Passing Clouds, 18x24"

Another big-sky landscape. This one is near Keuka Lake.

The framing began this week. I have four already framed and there are six more to go for Sunday's setup.

I received some great news: the two paintings I submitted to the Old Forge National Pastel Competition were accepted! Two more to frame... I'll post pics later on.

Congratulations! And BTW, do you frame these with spacers and no mat, with mat and no spacers, just glass??? ever curious as to how gorgeous work goes into the frame...pls share. AND: lovely depth with your clouds.

Cindy, Thank you. When I'm not using mats, I use spacers. The only exception is when framing very small work (5x7")--somehow it's hard to get nice small frames with a decent rabbet space. I have a friend who swears her large paintings look much better (and indeed they do!)framed directly against anti-reflective glass. I'm a little afraid of trying that though.
Donna, Thank you. The show was set up this afternoon. I was finishing framing this morning! What a relief that it's done. Now I have to start thinking about what to wear for the reception...
