Early this year I lost my very dear kitty Rosie due to asthma complications.
The pain of loosing her is still very raw but I have found some comfort in looking at he sketches I did of her. To my surprise, there were even more sketches than I thought I had, and to me, they are better than photos.

These are beautiful Adriana. I'm glad you decided to share them. What lovely memories. She looks like she was a beautiful cat.
Beautiful sketches, Adriana. I'm so sorry for your loss ...its always sad losing a pet..Glad you have these drawings...maybe a pastel painting in the future of her.?
I'm so sorry you lost such a special pet, Adriana. Their absence always leaves such a hole in your heart but I'm so glad you have those sketches. They are wonderful, personal reminders of her. Hugs to you.
Elaine, seeing your sketches encouraged me to post these ones, so thank you! It doesn't matter whether these are good or not, in the end, it's time I spent paying attention to Rosie and the insights I gained from that. Now, they have even more meaning to me. Rosie, being a tortie, wasn't exactly a "nice kitty"; she ruled our house like a queen and the few times she allowed us to pet her were like gifts to us, mere vassals.
Hilda,Thank you! I'm not ready to paint her yet but I do have the need to do that in the near future.
DonnaThank you! Yes, I'm so glad I did them. I have others of Lily, our previous doggy, and I have started sketching Olive, our 8 month pup. Despite the pain of their departure one has to look at the good times pets bring to our lives.
Bom!
