2009 in review

2009 was a great year for me: I participated in my first national competition and won and award, had more sales than the previous year, and made some interesting connections. But one thing I learned is that you need to spend time getting out there and promoting yourself.
Also, two of my large paintings have new homes, which has given me the encouragement to continue working in a larger format.

My studio is clean and rearranged so it looks spacious. Now if I could only overcome this artist block...

Corn Field at Noon, 19" x 27" SOLD

Indecision at the Flower Farm, 19" x 27" SOLD

I don't know which one I like better out of those two... But I guess poppies are my favorite part!

Hi Adriana! Congrats on the sales and a very successful year! Those are both beautiful paintings. I love the clouds and sky in the cornfield painting! Don't worry about being blocked. I think we just need time to rest and be still; just like the land at this time of year.

Tatiana, thank you! The poppies were the hardest part to paint, maybe because they were the last ones to be done and by then I was too eager to finish.
Donna, Thank you for the comments. I have started painting again but I'm at a point where things do not seem to flow as they should. It's a start at least!
