Distant Pond, 8" x 10"-Sold

This little one was finished last night in preparation for the Finger Lakes Lavender Festival in Skaneateles next month.

I have been on a slump of sorts with respect to painting simply because I've been painting with a wide brush: my house facade is finally getting the TLC it needed and my husband, daughter, and I are doing all the work. It's not easy to stand up in front of your easel when you are physically tired from the morning chores.

The house is looking nice and I'm starting to feel that I can produce new paintings again.

you need to enter that one in a pastel exhibit, it's got prize winner all over it!

I agree - beautiful painting, Adriana! I like your previous re-worked one too. The lavender festival sounds like fun. I know I would want to fill my car with lavender at the end of the day. I hope the house painting is going well. We are looking at a house in Aurora that was built in 1850. If we buy it I will be painting with a wide brush too!

Dan, Thank you so much for the vote of confidence!
Donna,Thank you! The house painting is going well, now we have to think how to do the 3rd floor (my husband doesn't trust contractors to do the work well). Wish you the best of luck with your house search!

What a fantastic artist!. I'm worried about using pastel, mainly because of the mess, though I haven't pushed myself. Rocks are difficult too but painting them next to flowing water must be more difficult. I love your style all the same.

Thank you all for your comments! I'm sorry I'm responding just now--my comment notification must have been turned off by mistake.
Richie, pastels could be quite messy, but that often happens when I don't know where I'm going with a painting. Their great advantage is that you can see results in a short time; besides, there is no need for drying time.
