Aglow, 9x12"

Aglow, pastel on board by Adriana Meiss

This painting is based on the same shed of two posts ago, but his time I wanted to play with the yellows of the sunset on the trees.  The foreground bush was an afterthought as I felt something was needed there to give  more balance to the scene. I'm still debating about it's shadow...

This one will be included in my exhibit next month. My goal is to have 15 new paintings and I'm almost done.  I have 4 large ones almost finished, and one that I haven't started yet that I've been ruminating in my head for some time. In general, I'm happy to see there is cohesion in the selected work.

I love the glow in this one Adriana. I think you are right in that there is something not quite right about the shadow on the small foreground shrub. Don't ask me what it is :) though.

There is a really subtle softness to this - it is warm and inviting. Beautiful work Adriana.

Adriana...this is a fantastic piece..with a beautiful golden glow..I agree with how you feel about the shadow..Maybe more of a brown/gold..? If you decide to fix it I'd love to see how you do it.

Elaine, Hilda, Donna T, Donna Van Tuyl, Thank you for the comments-I appreciate them! The painting is still under revision. I've shortened some of the trees and am still debating about whether to remove or leave (and fix) the foreground bush... I'm very tempted to try another similar painting just for comparison...Thanks again!
