Gathering Lavender, 9x12"

This is actually the 3rd painting of the Lavender Pickers series started last month (#2 is still under evaluation). I thought it finished but the more I look at it the more tempted I am to fiddle with it.

I find that painting a series like this is a little bit scary, mostly because of the fear of becoming too methodical in, for example, painting lavender clumps the same way. I'm hoping to avoid that problem by making lots of sketches first.

There is nothing better than the smell of lavender! Beautifully painted, Adriana! I Love how you added all the people and how the light is hitting the field! I hope you paint more of these!!!

i like this a lot Adriana. Just enough details on the people but not too many to distract from the field. I hope you are entering one of these paintings for the poster for this year's festival.

Hilda, Thank you! The light and temperature are two of the things I'm struggling with. I'll definitely paint more, also, I think it's easier to track any progress if you paint the same subject.
scfinder, Thanks
Donna, Thanks! The poster contest is a great opportunity for advertising, but I'll have to think of something else.
